Archer's Asylum

I'm a big bloke (7ft tall) and I am forever reading. This will mostly be my thoughts as I am reading and possibly a review or two. You may know me as Archer.

I am basically a lurker. My life revolves around my wife, my cats, Books, and entertainment.

I'm working on building and setting up a forge and I'm generally one of those people who can be found causing or in the middle of mischief somewhere...

The Edge of Darkness

The Edge of Darkness - Lissa Bilyk This is actually a pretty gripping dystopian yarn. I really REALLY liked it. And I'm not just saying that because I know Lissa (I am her other half). This is truly an astonishing piece of work. Written for NaNoWriMo and her first attempt at the month long type fest. I am astonished by it and I am very, very proud to say I know her purely because of this achievement. The writing style is addictive and the characters are well written and very real. The dialogue has a vein of humour in them that appeals to me as it is fairly dry. But seriously... Kick ass female cyborg with an attitude... It's everything I look for in a Sci-Fi and more. And the only reason it's getting less than a 5 star rating is because I read it on my tablet in a teeny tiny PDF format (It was a pre publication format copy) and it made my eyes hurt... But I read it in 3 sittings despite eyeache!4.5 stars
